Jaycee was born in Utah but was raised on a small farm in the rural periphery of Buffalo, New York. From hunting game with her stepdad, to spending long summer days in the garden with her mom, a strong connection to food was foundational to her life from an early age. She graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo with a BA in Political Science and French and a minor in Arabic. The part of her that cared deeply for food was awoken during a semester in Morocco, from which she returned set on pursuing a career in food systems.

Upon graduating, she returned to her early roots in Utah. She worked in emergency food response during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, and later spent a year at the IRC SLC with the New Roots program, supporting local farmers and the markets team. Jackie Rodabaugh

Spice Kitchen Incubator: Community Relations Coordinator

she/her/hers

Jackie came to Spice Kitchen Incubator in 2016 as an AmeriCorps VISTA responsible for growing the program through community outreach and volunteer recruitment. She quickly transitioned into a full-time role with Spice Kitchen. With a background in community education, one of Jackie’s favorite responsibilities is conducting outreach with others from the International Rescue Committee’s Economic Empowerment team. Jackie spent six years working diligently with Spice Kitchen and was instrumental in the continued success of the program.

From a small town in central Pennsylvania, Jackie didn’t have much exposure to diverse food options and considers herself lucky to be part of the Spice Kitchen Incubator program. She has yet to try something from one of the entrepreneurs that she doesn’t like!

Jamie Burns

Jamie Burns

Spice Kitchen Incubator: Program Coordinator

he/him/his

Jamie hails from Wisconsin, the wonderful land of beer and cheese. He joined the Spice Kitchen Incubator team in the Spring of 2021 as the SKI Program Coordinator. After owning a popular farm-to-table restaurant for seven years, he sold it and settled in Salt Lake. With a BA in Business and seven years of restaurant ownership and chef work under his belt, Jamie is dedicated to bringing this knowledge and experience to helping entrepreneurs achieve their culinary dreams.

During a semester abroad in Greece, he realized his strong passion for people and experiencing other cultures. And what better way to experience other cultures, but to indulge in local cuisine. The six month semester abroad turned into two and a half years of eating his way across the globe.
